Surviving Hurricane Michael: How your support helped a Florida clinic

Last fall's hurricanes caused severe destruction across the southeastern United States, destroying homes and businesses, and injuring and displacing both animals and people. For Breeze Animal Hospital in Florida, an AVMF relief grant made a huge difference. Your generosity helped the hospital provide boarding, medical treatment, and emergency care for animals during and after the hurricane. Read more >


AVMF charitable fund helps dog, owner maintain special bond

Porky hasn't had an easy life. Found emaciated and suffering severe skin disease and separation anxiety, he eventually was rescued by an owner whose love and attention brought out his sweet, loving nature. But both Porky and his owner suffered setbacks recently. After paying for emergency surgery to remove a dangerous object Porky had swallowed, the owner lost his job. Then Porky tore a ligament and needed more surgery. Struggling financially, Porky's owner turned to the AVMF Veterinary Care Charitable Fund®. Read more >

Ohio State University researcher receives AVMF/Winn Feline Foundation Award

Dr. Jessica Quimby, associate professor at The Ohio State University, received the AVMF/Winn Feline Foundation Research Award during the National Veterinary Scholars Symposium held on July 27 at Tufts University. Read more >
