Reviewing AVMF scholarship applications is one way for busy veterinarians to be involved and give back to the next generation of veterinarians. In this video, AVMF Board member Dr. Sandy Willis shares why she volunteers for the AVMF Scholarship Review Committee. Learn how you can apply today.
The AVMF has expanded our veterinary student scholarship program, and we are currently looking for additional volunteers to serve on the AVMF Scholarship Review Committee. Please see the eligibility criteria and reviewer responsibilities below. If you meet the criteria and are interested in mentoring students, we welcome you to apply. Thank you for your interest in volunteering to give back to the next generation of veterinarians.
“For the past eight years, I have been privileged to review scholarship applications for the AVMF. This has allowed me, in a small way, to give back to the veterinary community, of which I’ve been a member for almost fifty years. It’s been a very rewarding, and often heartwarming experience, reading the stories of so many outstanding students. Many, through no fault of their own, are in severe financial need. It has been a pleasure to help many of these well qualified students. They want to make the world a better place, they are the future of the profession.”
