Veteran’s service animals grant

AVMA member veterinarians who provide charitable veterinary care for dogs and service animals of military veterans may be eligible to apply for a special veterans grant through AVMF. Thanks to Merck and other generous donors, financial support is available to help with the cost of veterinary medical treatment when a pet owner is a military veteran.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Be a current AVMA member veterinarian – pet owners are not eligible to apply.
• Have provided treatment of illness or conditions requiring immediate veterinary medical care to an animal whose owner is a military veteran.
• First preference given to a certified service animals.
• Grant requests up to $2,000.
• Funds are limited and will be distributed as they are available.
