Embrace Pet Insurance Scholarship
AVMF is excited to announce our partnership with Embrace Pet Insurance to offer a new opportunity to veterinary students. Embrace aims to expand its mission of aiding homeless pets in shelters by supporting aspiring veterinarians interested in shelter work, providing $5,000 scholarships to five 3rd or 4th-year veterinary students intending to work in shelter medicine upon graduation.

Eligibility criteria
- Must be a third- or fourth-year student in good standing enrolled at an AVMA Council on Education accredited school of veterinary medicine.
- Must be located within the United States.
- Must demonstrate an intention to work in shelter medicine upon graduation.
Timeline
- Applications accepted: September 1 – September 30, 2026
- Applications reviewed October 1 – October 31, 2026
- Award notification and funds disbursement: Fall 2026 semester
