The 2026 Stanton Foundation Canine Spectrum of Care Clinical Trials Grant

2026 Grant recipient announced

The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) is proud to announce Dr. Andrew Moorhead as the 2026 recipient of The Stanton Foundation Canine Spectrum of Care Clinical Trials Grant, supporting canine clinical research focused on cost-effective diagnostic and treatment options. This initiative aims to help veterinarians provide quality care to clients with limited budgets.

Congratulations, Dr. Andrew Moorhead!

“While the American Heartworm Society three-dose melarsomine protocol eliminates the most heartworms in the least amount of time, this protocol is not an option for every client. Evaluation of the efficacy of an oral moxidectin product will allow veterinarians to have additional alternative options for less invasive and lower cost heartworm treatment, and provide scientific evidence for protocols that may have already been attempted but not documented.”
