Meet Gus, a playful 5-month-old Pug whose world changed when a severe corneal ulcer left him needing urgent surgery. Unfortunately, his owner was facing financial hardship. Dr. Laura Maston at Island Pet Urgent Care turned to the AVMF REACH Program™ — a lifeline for pets in need. Thanks to the support of generous AVMF donors, Gus received the surgery that saved his life.

On a night unlike any other, a vehicle crashed into the family home of a sweet tabby named Rhea—and her world was instantly turned upside down. She was trapped beneath the rubble for 16 long hours. When she was finally found, she couldn’t walk—and her family feared the worst. Thanks to the quick action of her veterinarian and support from REACH, Rhea received the lifesaving surgery she needed.
