Helping Veterinarians, Help Animals
The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) is the charitable arm of the AVMA. For over 50 years, the AVMF has been dedicated to our mission of developing resources to advance the science and practice of veterinary medicine to improve animal and human health. Charitable contributions and support to the Foundation help veterinarians help animals.
The AVMF provides programs in Education, Advocacy, Research and Service.
Established by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) in 1963, AVMF's national headquarters is based in northwest suburban Chicago. The AVMF has awarded more than $10 million in grants since its founding in 1963. The AVMA, founded in 1863, is one of the oldest and largest veterinary medical organizations in the world, with more than 80,000 current members.
As a nonprofit organization, AVMF relies on the generosity of the veterinarian profession and animal lovers.
As an AVMA member veterinarian, the AVMF is YOUR Foundation. We support veterinarians by providing resources to advance the science and practice of veterinarian medicine to improve animal and human health.
We understand the bond you have with your pet and know you want your companion to enjoy many happy, healthy years. We support programs that help you care for your pet through education and community service projects.
