AVMF/Winn Feline Foundation Award

Ohio State University researcher named recipient

The AVMF/Winn Feline Foundation Research Award was established in 2009 to honor research contributions that have advanced feline health. The 2019 recipient, Dr. Jessica Quimby, is a board-certified small animal internal medicine specialist in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at The Ohio State University.

Her current research areas include the study of renal pathophysiology, novel treatment strategies, and evidence-based supportive care strategies. She has an interest in feline clinical pharmacology focusing on improving supportive care and quality of life in cats with Chronic Kidney Disorder.

In addition to her outstanding contributions to research, Dr. Quimby is known to her colleagues and clients as a caring and dedicated clinician. 

Dr. Quimby received $2,500 and a crystal award, presented at the National Veterinary Scholars Symposium held on July 27 at Tufts University.
