When Dr. Jyl Rubin woke up on November 8, 2018, she had no idea she would lead a critical disaster relief effort, helping more than 30 animal victims of the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California's history at the time. The Paradise Camp Fire was the costliest natural disaster in the world in 2018 in terms of insured losses.
The AVMF National Veterinary Charitable Care Grant Program provides AVMA member veterinary practitioners with a simple and effective way to offer low or no-cost, necessary veterinary services to the animals of clients facing personal hardships due to COVID-19 or domestic violence.
