Grant Seeking

The American Veterinary Medical Foundation awards grants that meet its mission of "advancing the care of animals, with an emphasis on disaster preparedness and response, and animal health studies."
A disaster is a threatening or occurring event of such destructive magnitude and force as to dislocate people, separate family members, damage or destroy homes, and injure or kill people and animals. The AVMF also abides by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) definition of emergency as "any natural or man-caused situation that results in or may result in substantial injury or harm to the population or substantial damage to or loss of property."

The Foundation only accepts grant requests in the disaster preparedness and response categories below:
National: Supporting preparedness and response efforts that are national in scope.
State / Regional: Supporting collaborative state and or regional efforts to ensure effective preparedness and response within eligible states.
Individual: Supporting Veterinary Relief and Animal Health Care Reimbursement.

Applicants must meet general qualifications and adhere to guidelines specific to the priority area of interest as indicated in each application.
